The Global Table
Food, flavours and family recipes from cultures around the world.

Bright cultures. Warm connections.

More culture. More connection. More moments that matter.
Discover the visionBehind every Snowy River caravan is something far bigger than a production line.
It is a team made up of people, cultures, languages, traditions, stories and journeys from around the world.
Winter Mosaic is an idea to celebrate that diversity beyond our workplace, by creating a vibrant public winter festival for Melbourne.
Not simply a multicultural day for our employees.
A multicultural celebration created with our people.
For our city.
Winter Mosaic begins with the people who make Snowy River what it is.
Different backgrounds.
Different traditions.
Different journeys.
One team.
Future concept: With employee participation and consent, this space could feature the real people, cultures and stories behind Snowy River.

Welcome to Winter Mosaic.

Food, flavours and family recipes from cultures around the world.

Live music, dance, cultural performance and shared celebration.
Human stories of journeys, family, heritage, belonging and home.
An interactive cultural passport experience created especially for children and families.

Makers, artisans, cultural organisations and community groups sharing creativity, tradition and culture.

Warm gathering spaces designed for conversation, connection and shared moments.

Lighting, colour, projection, performance and atmosphere transforming the festival as evening falls.
Snowy River has always been about more than where people go.
It is about the people they travel with, the experiences they share and the moments they remember.
Winter Mosaic takes that idea somewhere new.
It creates a moment where our people, their families, their cultures and the wider Melbourne community can come together and experience something that matters.

Every culture adds something.
Every story adds something.
Every person adds another piece.
An opportunity for employees to proudly share their heritage, traditions and stories.
A visible demonstration that different backgrounds are not simply represented at Snowy River. They are valued.
New conversations between colleagues, families, communities and cultures.
Employees can help shape the event rather than simply attend it.
An opportunity to include the people who matter most to our team.
This is not about asking employees to perform their culture.
It is about creating an invitation for those who want to share, contribute and help shape something meaningful.
Participation would always be voluntary and respectful.
Good for our people.
Good for our community.
Good for Snowy River.
Snowy River presents the event.
Our people inspire it.
Melbourne's multicultural communities help shape it.
Free. Welcoming. Accessible. Created together.
Physical, cultural and social accessibility would be considered from the very beginning, so everyone can feel at home.

Our people are where the idea begins.
The community is where it grows.
Winter Mosaic can be built through a shared funding model.
Snowy River could provide the foundation, while grants, event partners, sponsorships, in-kind support and other event income help bring the wider vision to life.
The aim is not simply to spend more. It is to make Snowy's investment work harder.
Presenting partner support.
Potential funding and eligible in-kind support.
Potential sponsorship and partner contributions.
Potential supplier, venue, production and community support.
Up to $20,000
The current City of Melbourne Cultural Festivals, Markets and Events Grants program provides up to $20,000 per event through cash funding, eligible in-kind support, or a combination of both, subject to the program guidelines and approval.
The program is designed to support free public events that celebrate multicultural communities, strengthen social connection and belonging, create cross-cultural experiences and activate Melbourne's public spaces.

That places the event within the current City of Melbourne Cultural Festivals, Markets and Events Grants funding period, which covers eligible events beginning between 1 January and 30 June 2027.
Applications for the current round close at 4:00 pm AEDT on 15 October 2026.
Funding is competitive and subject to formal eligibility, assessment and approval.
Winter Mosaic would need to be delivered at an eligible location within the City of Melbourne municipality.
The public cultural program would be free and open to everyone.
The event concept would be developed to target at least 1,000 attendees to the free program.
The grant requires contribution from other funding or income sources, aligning with the proposed shared funding model.
The formal applicant would need to meet City of Melbourne requirements including legal entity, ABN and insurance requirements.
Government grants are competitive and subject to eligibility, assessment and approval. Funding opportunities shown here are indicative and would be formally assessed before any financial commitments are made.
A big idea doesn't have to mean Snowy carries the full cost.
With the right mix of funding, partnerships and support, Winter Mosaic can become a shared investment in our people, our community and more moments that matter.
Winter Mosaic can be designed as a shared investment.
Snowy River helps lead the vision, while grants, sponsors, suppliers, vendors, exhibitors and in-kind partners help bring the event to life.
The aim is to create a festival that feels ambitious, culturally meaningful and financially achievable.
One event.
Multiple funding streams.
Illustrative funding mix only. Final revenue model subject to approvals, agreements and event design.

Future partner engagement could include cash sponsorship, in-kind support, activation partnerships or experience-specific backing. No organisation named here has been approached or has agreed to take part.
A shared funding structure can reduce direct cost pressure on Snowy River.
Partners can contribute expertise, experiences, activations and resources.
Suppliers and aligned brands may welcome the opportunity to support a meaningful public event.
Sponsorship can help fund real festival moments such as food areas, kids' activities, lighting, stage programming or cultural experiences.
The goal is not simply to lower cost.
It is to build a better event through shared support.

External grants, partnerships and community support may be explored to help bring the concept to life. None of these are assumed or guaranteed at this stage.
We need HR to help us explore what it could become.
Help us better understand the cultural diversity represented across the Snowy River workforce.
Help us develop an appropriate voluntary expression-of-interest process for employees.
Help develop a short, voluntary and culturally respectful workforce discovery process, so we can understand which cultures, stories and traditions employees may wish to share. No one would ever be asked to disclose their background.
Help establish clear privacy, consent and participation principles.
Identify an HR representative who could join the initial project group.
Help us invite a small group of interested employees to form a Cultural Advisory Group.
Explore the idea together before any major commitments are made.
